The convent of San Francisco is one of the city's most emblematic historical complexes, renowned not only for the banquets, cocktails and events held by companies and institutions at the hotel, but also for the Franciscan community's activities held in its different spaces, such as the monumental church of San Francisco, the Terra Santa Museum, its library full of history, its provincial archive, the convent grounds, but above all the social work they carry out at the John XXIII hostel, in aid of the city's homeless population.
San Francisco Hotel Monumento is the only hotel in Santiago de Compostela located in a convent where friars continue to live. Each of its 82 rooms are unique, and that is due to the fact that they have been adapted to the characteristics of this 18th century building. With 2 comfortable rooms, there is a master bedroom with a 1.80 m double bed and another room with a trundle sofa bed. Rooms are equipped with telephone, safe, mini bar, air conditioning, heating and satellite TV. They also have a coffee machine, bathrobes and slippers. The restaurant offers a convent menu of the day with a selection of traditional recipes from different convents in Spain and Portugal.
